Mitchell College Academics

We have an excellent combination of programs in the liberal arts and professional programs. Our degree programs and support services reflect the College's strong commitment to teaching and learning, to the value of the individual student, to preparing our students for a rewarding personal and professional life, and to developing an appreciation for the ongoing life of the mind.

Our degree programs have three parts. You will take courses in general education to help you develop the ability to think critically, to appreciate cultures other than your own, and to write clearly and persuasively, to understand the contributions to our society of the natural and social sciences and of the arts and humanities, to develop technological abilities and to be able to participate in and contribute to society. Courses in your major will assist you to master the area you have chosen to pursue in depth, and your elective courses are free choices in areas you have an interest in, or courses which can strengthen your major program.

When you visit Mitchell you will meet a faculty enthusiastic about working with you to achieve your academic and professional goals. Small classes are taught by an accomplished faculty to create an active learning environment in which ideas are explored and in which every student's voice is heard. Our support services include the Academic Success Center which provides support in all aspects of your studies.
