Stephanie Birch joined the Mariners staff in January 2016 and became the Head Athletic Trainer in August 2018. 

 

Prior to her time at Mitchell, Birch was an assistant athletic trainer at the Westminster School in Simsbury, CT. She has also worked for Varsity Event Administration as a member of their first aid staff, traveling the country while working cheer and dance camps. She has also worked at some regional cheer and dance competitions, as well as national competitions in Orlando, FL which are televised on ESPN. She has also been invited to travel with Varsity to London, England for its annual trip to participate in the London New Year's Day parade. 

Birch graduated from Lasell College in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in athletic training and was a member of the volleyball and softball teams. In 2013 she received her Master's degree in psychology, with a concentration in sports psychology, from Capella University.

 

Birch also works part time as an EMT for American Medical Response in Hartford, CT, covering the city and working standbys for concerts, sporting competitions and various other events. She currently resides in Groton, CT and spends her summers traveling and working various camps and events.
