Mariners Land 18 on NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team


ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 196 student-athletes, including 18 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2016 fall semester.

Representing the Mariners were senior Eric Davey (men's golf), junior Tiana Edwards (women's soccer), junior David Eichelberg (men's golf), junior Megan Elphick (women's volleyball), sophomore Drew Johndrow (women's soccer), senior Taylor Kadlec (women's soccer), junior Yianni Longinidis (men's soccer), sophomore Kate McCormack (women's cross country), senior Andrew Nigro (men's soccer), senior Lindsay Noble (women's soccer), sophomore Francesca Pinard (women's cross country), junior Taylor Saja (women's soccer), senior Orson Sinclair (men's golf), senior Sophie Spiller (women's soccer), sophomore Andrew Storton (men's soccer), junior Lauren Tompkins (women's volleyball), junior Zavier Veliz (men's soccer) and sophomore Jacquelyn White (women's soccer).

A total of nine Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Edwards, Longinidis, Saja, Sinclair and Tompkins were all repeat selections while Kadlec, Nigro, Noble and Spiller earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's golf and women's tennis were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
