Mariners Place 14 on NECC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 142 student-athletes, including 14 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2018 spring semester.

Representing the Mariners were junior Peter Abate (baseball), senior Samantha DelConte (softball), senior Megan Elphick (softball), senior Jack Finnegan (baseball), sophomore Haley Garcia (women's basketball), junior Drew Johndrow (women's lacrosse), sophomore Allegra Jones (women's basketball), senior Colizel Lewis (men's basketball), sophomore Gillian MacLellan (women's lacrosse), junior Kate McCormack (women's basketball & lacrosse), junior Adam Liudzius (men's lacrosse), junior Francesca Pinard (women's basketball & lacrosse), junior Domenico Santiago (men's basketball), and junior Jacquelyn White (women's lacrosse).

A total of seven Mariners were first-time spring honorees. Abate, Elphick, McCormack, Pinard and Santiago were all repeat selections while Finnegan and DelConte earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, men's and women's lacrosse, baseball, softball and men's tennis were eligible for winter/spring NECC academic honors.
