Mitchell Honors Top 25 in Special Ceremony

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- During halftime of Wednesday's men's basketball game, the Mitchell College Department of Athletics recognized its top student-athletes with the Sixth Annual Top-25 Student-Athlete Scholar Recognition Ceremony.

The ceremony honored those student-athletes who have achieved the highest degree of academic success while participating in Division III athletics.

Thanks to the efforts of students, faculty, staff, coaches and administrators, Mitchell's student-athletes posted a department grade-point average of 3.14 last semester. A total of 117 student-athletes—representing more than half the student-athlete population—currently maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Of that group, the 25 student-athletes with the highest cumulative GPAs were honored at the event—all with GPAs of 3.62 or higher.
