Mariners Induct 20 New Members Into Chi Alpha Sigma

NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Mitchell College Department of Athletics announced its 2022 induction class for Chi Alpha Sigma last week.

The Mariners added 20 new members to the organization, which is the first and only academic fraternity recognizing the athletic and academic achievements of college student-athletes. Joining the ranks were seniors Ahmani Browne (men's basketball), James Giovanniello (men's lacrosse), Chad-Wayne Hopkins (men's soccer), Samuel Jackson (men's basketball) and Brandon Reynolds (men's cross country) and juniors Ryan Ahern (baseball), Claire Binfield (women's volleyball), Logan Casala (baseball), Nolan Clack (men's soccer), Tyler Daly (baseball), Olivia DeLoach (women's volleyball), Aizhane Glenn (women's cross country & lacrosse), Kenny Heon (baseball), Lara Jacobs (women's cross country), Samantha Kasheta (softball), Sam McKenna (women's basketball), Rachel Ricciuti (women's soccer & lacrosse), Robbie Roles (baseball), Bree Rudolph (women's volleyball & lacrosse) and Mariah Travisano (women's soccer & lacrosse). 

The mission of Chi Alpha Sigma is to bring honor and recognition to deserving student-athletes, their families, teams, athletic departments and colleges. To be considered for induction student-athletes must be a junior with a 3.4 cumulative GPA, possess good moral character and must earn a letter in a varsity sport.

Mitchell is one of eight Chi Alpha Sigma chapters in Connecticut. The Mariners have inducted a total of 132 student-athletes since 2008 (see full list).
