FLUSHING, N.Y. - The City University of New York Athletic Conference announced its year-end baseball award winners recently, and Richard Gomez of CCNY has been selected as Player of the Year after posting one of the best offensive seasons in all of Division III. Meanwhile, Mitchell left-handed pitcher Jeremy Chapman (So., Oakdale, Conn.) garnered Pitcher of the Year praise, while teammate and third baseman Jeff Perillo (Fr., Newington, Conn.) received Rookie of the Year mention.

NEW LONDON, CT -- Mitchell College baseball wrapped up their regular season with 2-3 week and two named to the CUNYAC's best list. Sophomore southpaw Andrew Langlais (Ledyard, CT) was named the CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week and freshman Jeff Perillo retained his spot as the Rookie of the Week.

NEW LONDON, CONN.--- Mitchell College Baseball landed two on this week’s “Players of the Week” list for the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC). Mitchell went 2-1 this past weekend in conference play, to secure a spot in post season. Sophomore southpaw Jeremy Chapman (Oakdale, Conn./Waterford) and freshman third-baseman Jeff Perillo (Newington, Conn./Newington) were recognized for their hand in the Pequot victories.

NEW LONDON, CT -- The Saturday, April 12 baseball game at Westchester Community College against Baruch College was cancelled due to weather. Their game scheduled for Sunday, April 13 at Mitchell will now move to a 12:00 pm double header.

The Pequot’s won six of their seven leading up to this past Monday. Chapman’s start in the first half of a doubleheader against CCNY (Mar. 29) helped his squad to a 3-0 start in CUNYAC play. He fired a complete-game (seven innings) shutout against the Beavers, scattering three hits and three walks while striking out 11 CCNY hitters.

Mitchell Baseball will pack their bat bags and head to Fort Pierce, Florida for their annual Spring Training trip. The Pequots will face off with SUNY New Paltz, Bethany College (W.V.), Carelton College and Westminster College (P.A.).
