LANGLAIS AND PERILLO NAMED CUNYAC PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

NEW LONDON, CT -- Mitchell College baseball wrapped up their regular season with 2-3 week and two named to the CUNYAC's best list. Sophomore southpaw Andrew Langlais (Ledyard, CT) was named the CUNYAC Pitcher of the Week and freshman Jeff Perillo (Newington, CT) retained his spot as the Rookie of the Week.

Langlais pitched the Pequots to the No. 2 seed in the May 8-10 CUNYAC Baseball Championships, firing a complete-game three-hit shutout over Baruch (May 3) with seven strikeouts. He limited the Bearcats to a .100 batting average against in the contest and faced just four batters over the minimum in garnering the victory.

Perillo batted .444 (4-for-9) with two doubles and a .615 on-base percentage during the Pequots' 2-1 week. He scored three runs in as many games on the week, and against Baruch started an inning-ending double play in the sixth to keep the Bearcats off the scoreboard.
