Baseball Drops Series Finale vs. Lesley

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Lesley University salvaged the final game of its weekend series with Mitchell College, winning 3-2 in 10 innings in New England Collegiate Conference action at Stein Diamond.

A day after being outscored 30-0 in a doubleheader sweep, Lesley pulled out a come-from-behind victory when Tyler Plourd singled to left field in the 10th to score Adam Ciampi from second base. The Lynx had trailed 2-0 but scratched across runs in the sixth and eighth to tie the game.

Mitchell got on the scoreboard in the fourth behind an RBI single by freshman Neftali Arroyo that scored sophomore Rafael Garcia. Arroyo later scored with the Mariners second run on a sacrifice fly to center by freshman Jon Padilla.

Lesley got a run back in the sixth on an RBI single by Kevin Hopwood. Mitchell starting pitcher Mike Tandy worked into the eighth inning before the Lynx tied the game off him on a bunt single by Ciampi.
