Shamas Grabs NECC Weekly Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second straight week and third time this season, Mitchell College sophomore Tyler Shamas was named NECC Pitcher of the Week for the sport of baseball, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Shamas pitched a gem in the series finale at Elms College over the weekend, allowing only three hits and one unearned run over 7.0 innings. He finished the week with a 0.00 ERA and a total of six strikeouts.

Shamas has made eight starts and is 6-2 with a 3.02 ERA. In conference play he is 5-0 and leads the NECC in ERA (0.51) and strikeouts (32).

Mitchell (15-11-1 overall, 9-6 NECC) will next play a doubleheader at Lesley University on Saturday, April 26 at 1 p.m.
