Weather Forces Revised Schedule for NECC Baseball Championship


NEW LONDON, Conn. – Inclement weather has forced the New England Collegiate Conference to make several schedule changes to the 2017 NECC Baseball Championship this weekend.

The three-day, double-elimination tournament has been pushed back to a Saturday start. Top-seeded Mitchell College will host fourth-seeded Lesley University while second-seeded Elms College will host third-seeded Becker College. Both games are slated for a 3 p.m. start.

All four teams will then travel to Mitchell for the remainder of the tournament. Sunday will feature three games beginning at 9:30 a.m. while Monday's title round kicks off at 11:30 a.m.

Saturday, May 6
Game 1: #4 Lesley at #1 Mitchell, 3:00 p.m.  
Game 2: #3 Becker at #3 Elms, 3:00 p.m. 

Sunday, May 7 (at Mitchell)
Game 3: Loser of Game 1 vs Loser of Game 2, 9:30 a.m.
Game 4: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 2 
Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Loser of Game 4 

Monday, May 8 (at Mitchell)
Game 6: Winner of Game 4 vs. Winner of Game 5, 11:30 a.m.
Game 7: (If necessary)
