PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- The Mitchell College baseball team lost by a 7-2 final against Heidelberg University on Monday morning.
The Student Princes scored three runs in the top of the first and never trailed. Marc Ochoa went 4-for-5 with three doubles and five RBI to lead the Heidelberg offense.
Mitchell scored a run in the second inning on a double play and another in the sixth on a wild pitch. Markus Melendez paced the Mariners with three hits on the day while Justin Johnson added a pair.
Drew Daley was the first of six pitchers used by Mitchell. He surrendered five runs (three earned) on five hits over 4.2 innings and struck out three.
Mitchell (2-3 overall) will enjoy an off day before taking on Penn State University Abington on Wednesday, March 6 at 3:45 p.m.
