Falk Lands on D3Baseball.com Team of the Week

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Mitchell College senior Matt Falk (Enfield, Conn.) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Every week during the season, the popular web site recognizes the top performers from across the nation at each position. It marked the first time this season that Falk has earned the distinction and the first time a Mitchell player has earned the distinction since Dougie DelaCruz (Uncasville, Conn.) in May of 2021.

The senior continued his hot start to the season, slashing .429/.636/.929, helping guide Mitchell to a 3-2 record across five games in Florida. The catcher hit his third home run of the season, drove in seven runs, worked eight walks, and scored five runs. Falk collected a pair of triples, tallied 13 total bases, and lead the Mariners with 22 RBI through the first 11 games of the season entering the week of March 20.

Including the Mariners victory against Bridgewater State on Tuesday, March 21, Falk is batting .356 with a team-high four home runs and 23 RBI. He also has a team-best four triples and entering the week ranked within the top 10 nationwide for Division III in runs batted in per game (2.0).

Mitchell (9-3 overall) has won three straight games and has outscored their opponents 44-3 over three home games thus far this spring. The Mariners will return to the diamond for a doubleheader against NECC rival New England College on Saturday, March 25.
