Yaworski Lands on D3Baseball.com Team of the Week

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Mitchell College sophomore Bo Yaworski (Brooklyn, Conn.) was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday.

Every week during the season, the popular web site recognizes the top performers from across the nation at each position. It marked the first time in his collegiate career Yaworski has earned the distinction and is the second time a Mitchell player has been featured on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week this spring.

Yaworski did a little bit of everything for Mitchell, who posted a 5-0 record on the week with wins over Bridgewater State, New England College, and Husson University. The sophomore slashed .471/.625/.882 with two doubles, one triple, one home run, and just two strikeouts. He added 11 runs scored, 10 RBI, and seven walks while playing a stellar first base. Yaworski recorded at least one base hit in all five games and had more than one hit in three of the five games played.

Yaworski, a first baseman, is batting .359 with three home runs, 24 RBI, and 26 runs scored through 16 games this season. He ranks among the top five in the New England Collegiate Conference in runs batted in, runs scored, hits, and slugging percentage.

Mitchell (13-3 overall. 2-0 NECC) has won seven straight games and will return to the diamond for a non-conference road matchup at UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, March 29.
