Baseball Routs Dartmouth for Eighth Straight Win

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Mitchell College baseball team rolled to their eighth consecutive victory on Wednesday afternoon, routing UMass Dartmouth 19-3 in a non-conference matchup.

Senior catcher Matt Falk (Enfield, Conn.) drove in a team-high five runs for the Mariners, while Owen Robbins (East Lyme Conn.), Lelo Martinez (New London, Conn.), Justin Adorno (New Britain, Conn.), and Sean O'Donnell (Terryville, Conn.) collected two RBI each.

After a scoreless first inning, Mitchell's Nicholas Bracale (East Haven Conn.) opened the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the second. The Mariners were off and running from there, scoring two more in the second before exploding for 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning.

Falk, Robbins, Bracale, and Dougie DelaCruz (Uncasville, Conn.) each collected multiple hits for Mitchell, who tallied 19 base knocks on the day. Freshman Alex Sheehan (Killingworth, Conn.) picked up his second win of the season, tossing five innings of one run ball.

Braedon Jones received the loss for the Corsairs after surrendering seven runs across two innings.

The Mariners (14-3 overall, 2-0 NECC) will be back in action on Saturday, April 1, when they return to conference play with a road doubleheader again Eastern Nazarene College.
