Inclement Weather Postpones Second Day of New London Regional

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Due to forecasted inclement weather which is projected to bring heavy rain to Southeastern Connecticut on Saturday, the second day of the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship New London Regional has been postponed.

The intended schedule for Saturday, May 20, will now be played on Sunday, May 21, with second-seeded Tufts University facing fourth seeded Husson University in an elimination game at 8:30 am to begin the day. Following that, top-seeded Wheaton College (MA) will battle host and third-seeded Mitchell College in a winner's bracket showdown scheduled to begin at 12:00 pm. To round out the day, the winning team from the opening game and the losing team from the noon game will play to decide who advances to the championship round on Monday.

The schedule for Monday, May 22, will now see first pitch in the Regional Championship game be thrown out at 11:00 am, with a deciding game, if necessary, to follow 45 minutes after the conclusion of the opener.
