Mariners Place 14 on NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team


ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 200 student-athletes, including 14 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2014 fall semester.

Representing the Mariners were senior Jordan Cook (men's soccer), senior Nicholas Donahue (men's soccer), junior Matt Grudgen (men's golf), senior Chris Heller (men's golf), sophomore Taylor Kadlec (women's soccer), senior Chris McKeon (men's cross country), sophomore Andrew Nigro (men's soccer), sophomore Lindsay Noble (women's soccer), senior Michael Pinkerton (men's golf), senior Breanna Poirier (women's cross country), junior Zack Rocheleau (men's soccer), sophomore Orson Sinclair (men's golf), sophomore Sophie Spiller (women's soccer) and junior Evan Thompson (men's golf).

A total of seven Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Grudgen, Pinkerton and Rocheleau were all repeat selections while McKeon, Poirier, Heller and Cook earned the distinction for the third time in their careers. 

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's golf and women's tennis were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
