Mariners Place 12 on NECC Fall Academic All-Conference Team
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 187 student-athletes, including 12 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2015 fall semester.
Representing the Mariners were sophomore Tiana Edwards (women's soccer), senior Matt Grudgen (men's golf), junior Taylor Kadlec (women's soccer), sophomore Yianni Longinidis (men's soccer), junior Andrew Nigro (men's soccer), junior Lindsay Noble (women's soccer), sophomore Kate Perry (women's soccer), senior Zack Rocheleau (men's soccer), sophomore Taylor Saja (women's soccer), junior Sophie Spiller (women's soccer), sophomore Lauren Tompkins (women's volleyball) and junior Todd Zessin (men's soccer).
A total of six Mariners were first-time fall honorees. Kadlec, Nigro, Noble and Spiller were all repeat selections while Grudgen and Rocheleau earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's cross country, field hockey, men's golf and women's tennis were eligible for fall NECC academic honors.
