Mariners Place 10 on NECC Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team


ATTLEBORO, Mass. - A total of 184 student-athletes, including 10 from Mitchell College, were named to the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Academic All-Conference Team for the 2016 spring semester.


Representing the Mariners were senior Savannah Boyle (women's basketball), sophomore Samantha DelConte (softball), sophomore Tiana Edwards (women's basketball), sophomore Jack Finnegan (baseball), junior Taylor Kadlec (women's lacrosse), senior Shannon O'Neil (softball), sophomore Kyle Perry (men's lacrosse), sophomore Taylor Saja (women's lacrosse), junior Jessica Shepherd (women's basketball), junior Orson Sinclair (men's tennis).

A total of six Mariners were first-time spring honorees. Shepherd and Sinclair were repeat selections while Boyle and O'Neil earned the distinction for the third time in their careers.

To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, baseball, softball, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and men's tennis were eligible for spring NECC academic honors.
