MBB's Quinn Takes NECC Rookie Honors

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second time this month Mitchell College freshman Tim Quinn was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.

Quinn, who also earned the honor on January 10, averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last week. He netted a team-high 17 points to go with five rebounds and two assists in a 73-61 loss at Lesley University. He also tallied 12 points and a career-best nine rebounds in an 80-66 setback at Wheelock College. Quinn shot 48 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point distance for the week.

Quinn has played in 16 games while making 11 starts in his rookie season with the Mariners. He ranks second on the team in scoring at 10.1 points per game and has scored in double figures in nine games. In conference play he leads the team in scoring at 12.3 points per contest and is shooting 43 percent from the floor.

Mitchell (1-17 overall, 0-9 NECC) returns to action at home against Elms College on Thursday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m.
