MBB's Quinn Repeats as NECC Rookie of the Week


ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second straight week and third time this season, Mitchell College freshman Tim Quinn was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.

Quinn led the Mariners in scoring for the week at 19.5 points per game and also contributed 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.0 steals per contest. He finished with 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in a loss to Daniel Webster College and netted 19 points earlier in the week in a setback against Elms College.

Quinn, a guard, has played in 18 games while making 13 starts in his rookie season with the Mariners. He leads the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game and has scored in double figures in 11 games. He currently leads all NECC rookies in scoring and is averaging 13.9 points per contest in conference play. He was previously tabbed rookie of the week on January 10 and 31, and his selection marked the fourth time in the past five weeks that a Mitchell player has earned the distinction.

Mitchell (1-19 overall, 0-11 NECC) returns to action at Newbury College on Saturday, February 12 at 2 p.m.
