NASHUA, N.H. – The Mitchell College men's basketball team couldn't hold off Daniel Webster College in the final five minutes, falling 78-67 on Saturday afternoon in a NECC match-up at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

Daniel Webster's Daris Cosby drilled four key three-pointers within the span of six minutes late in the second half as part of a game- and career-high 30 points. Cosby shot 11-for-17 from the field and knocked down six from outside as the Eagles (6-10, 2-5 NECC) snapped a four-game slide.

John Hickson added 13 points with three from downtown and Dave Schindewolf chipped in with 11 points, six boards and a career-best six assists. David Feinstein pulled in a game-high four steals and dropped in seven points.

Junior Joshua Ford racked up 24 points on 11-for-16 shooting with a game-high nine caroms and added three steals and two blocks for the Mariners (7-8, 3-4 NECC). Sophomore Trace Lanson added 10 points while freshman Devonta Mosley had eight points and eight rebounds.

Mitchell started the second half with a 13-1 run over the opening five minutes to take a four-point lead. The Mariners led by as many as five (52-47) with 10:39 left after a Lanson three.

Cosby followed with the first of his late treys to cut it to two, and DWC shaved it to one on a Shindewolf layup for a 56-55 game with 4:53 left. Cosby followed to regain the lead from outside with 4:53 on the clock for a 58-56 game.

Junior Anthony Epps tied it inside with 4:31 to go, but Cosby was left alone in the left corner and buried his third straight trey for a 61-58 game with 4:05 remaining. A Ford lay-up made it 61-60 just 26 seconds later, but Hickson converted from outside, Schindewolf converted in the lane and Hickson went inside to make it an eight-point game.

Ford again answered inside with 1:28 left, but Cosby sealed it with his fourth during the stretch for a 71-62 lead with 1:19 to go. DWC shot 46 percent from the field while Mitchell shot 41 percent. The Mariners finished with a 40-37 advantage in rebounding.
