MBB Can't Get Going at Fisher


LYNN, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's basketball team dropped an 83-62 decision at Fisher College on Tuesday night in non-conference action at Fectau-Leary Gym.

Behind a 12-for-25 shooting effort from three-point range, Fisher (10-3 overall) built a double-digit lead in the first half and never trailed in the contest. Three Falcons scored in double figures led by 14 points from Geodice Oritz. Fisher's starting five outscored Mitchell's by a 56-34 margin.

Parris Hill and Wyatt Springer each scored 11 points to pace the Mariners. Alan Morgan chipped in with a season-high 10 points while Frank Martin handed out five assists. Mitchell (1-6 overall) shot 37 percent from the floor and went 11-for-13 at the charity stripe.

The Mariners trailed 43-28 at halftime and couldn't make a dent in the deficit in the second half. Springer scored nine of his 11 points in the final stanza and finished the game with three three-pointers. 

Mitchell will next play at Western Connecticut State University on Tuesday, January 6 at 6 p.m.
