MBB's Williams Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Hasani Williams was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Williams averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game last week for the Mariners. He shot 9-for-11 from the field at Western Connecticut State University and finished with season highs of 19 points and 11 rebounds to record his first career double-double. He also scored in double figures against Division I Yale University with 10 points in 20 minutes of action. He shot 70 percent (14-for-20) for the week and averaged 23.0 minutes per game.

Williams, a 6-4 forward, has started and played in all nine games this season. He currently ranks fourth on the team in scoring at 10.2 points per game and second in rebounds at 6.6 per contest. 

Mitchell (0-9 overall) will next play at Daniel Webster College on Tuesday, January 10 at 7:30 p.m.
