CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- After a furious comeback in the final minute of regulation, the Mitchell College men's basketball team came up short in overtime and lost 111-100 at Lesley University on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference play.

Mitchell trailed by eight with a minute to play but outscored Lesley 13-5 to send the game into extra time. Brayvon Young was responsible for nine points during the stretch, including the game-tying three with three seconds remaining. However, the momentum didn't carry over into overtime, as the Lynx scored the first 11 points of the stanza and held on for the win.

Hasani Williams led the Mariners with 30 points and added a game-high 15 rebounds. Young and Steffen Brunson each finished with 23 points apiece to round out the Mitchell players in double figures. Domenico Santiago scored eight points to become the fourth player in Mitchell's Division III history to record 1,000 career points. After sitting for the majority of the first half with two fouls, he reached the plateau on a lay-up with 15:49 to play in the second half.

Lesley's Marquise Johnson led all scorers with 33 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Lynx shot just under 56 percent as a team and went 11-for-24 from long range.

Mitchell (8-9 overall, 4-2 NECC) will next host Becker College on Wednesday, January 24 at 6 p.m.
