MBB's Stokes Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. -- Mitchell College freshman Alfonzo Stokes was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Stokes scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds in his collegiate debut against NYU last week in Mitchell's season opener at the Hampton Inn Jim Beaudry Classic. He shot 7-for-8 from the free throw line and also finished with a steal.

Mitchell (1-1 overall) will next play at Coast Guard Academy on Thursday, November 21 at 6 p.m.
