Seven MBB Players Named to NABC Honors Court

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2019-20 NABC Honors Court on Wednesday, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.

Seven student-athletes from Mitchell College were recognized. Matt Finke earned the honor for the second time in his career while Elijah Baidoo, Malik Chase, Julius Hemingway, Connel Henderson, Brendan Miller and Tyler Peretz were first-time recipients. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be either a junior or senior academically and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

The seven recipients marked the most ever for the Mitchell program. Mitchell also the only institution from the New England Collegiate Conference that was represented.  

Mitchell finished the season with an overall record of 12-15 but went 8-4 in the New England Collegiate Conference. The Mariners advanced to the NECC Championsthip title game for the second straight year but came up on the wrong end of a buzzer beater against top-seeded New England College.

About the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)
Located in Kansas City, Missouri, the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas.
