BRONX, N.Y. – The Mitchell College men's basketball team dropped a 98-84 decision at Lehman College on Tuesday evening.

Alfonzo Stokes played all 40 minutes and posted a team-high 22 points to go with seven assists and three steals. Mikey Buscetto finished with 16 points in his return to the floor while Jacob Narvaez and Jalen Benson added 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Lehman's five starters accounted for all but 12 of the team's points. Isaiah Geathers led all scorers with 33 points while Gian Batista checked in with 29.

The Lightning used an early 7-0 run to gain some initial separation, but the Mariners hung close. Mitchell eventually tied the game at 13-13 on a free throw by Stokes, but Lehman responded with a three-pointer on the other end and led the rest of the way.

Geathers and Batista later fueled a 10-0 run to build the Lehman lead to 28-17 with 8:28 to go in the half. Geathers bookended the spurt with three-point field goals as the lead grew to double digits.

A three by Batista completed the first-half scoring and left the hosts with a 52-39 advantage at the half.

The Lightning, who led by as many as 18 in the second half, saw their margin shrink to eight following a jumper by Narvaez with 9:32 to play. But that would be as close as the Mariners would get, and Lehman cemented the win to improve to 6-1 on the season.

Mitchell (3-6 overall) will next play at Albertus Magnus College on Thursday, December 16 at 7 p.m
