Miller Repeats as GNAC Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – For the second consecutive week, Mitchell College freshman Elijah Miller (Ellington, Conn.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's basketball, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Miller garnered the recognition for the second time in his collegiate career, and remains the lone Mitchell player to earn GNAC Rookie of the Week honors this season.

The first year player turned in another impressive week for the Mariners, averaging a double-double with 15.5 points and 11 rebounds per game across a pair of GNAC contests. Miller added 5.5 assists, 4.0 steals, and 1.5 blocked shots per game, while shooting 42.9% from the floor.

He began the week with a double-double against Dean College on Wednesday, finishing with 18 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, seven steals, and a pair of blocked shots. Miller then recorded his third consecutive double-double on the road Saturday at Saint Joseph's College (ME), scoring 13 points and pulling down 10 rebounds. Miller added three assists, one steal, and one block against the Monks, while shooting 46.2% (6-13) overall.

Having scored in double-figures in each of the last four games, Miller is averaging 7.1 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.7 assists per game heading into the final week of the regular season.

The Mariners (7-16, 4-8 GNAC) will return to play on Wednesday, February 14th, when they travel for a conference game with Rivier University scheduled to tipoff at 5:00 pm.
