Golf Ties for Fourth at Nichols

DUDLEY, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's golf team tied for fourth place at a five-team match hosted by Nichols College on Tuesday afternoon at Dudley Hill Golf Course. 

Nichols placed first with a team score of 319 on the par 72 course. Brian Sears and Matt Quigley each fired an 89 (+7) to lead the Bison to victory. Becker's Tim Staley and John Bourque tied for medalist honors with a 78 (+6) as the Hawks finished two strokes back of the Bison with a composite 321.

Anna Maria finished third with a 338, led by a pair of 83 scores from senior Jeff LaFramboise (Webster, Mass.) and first year Jake Kardash. Brandeis and Mitchell wrapped up the scoring tied with team scores of 363.

Senior John Pescheta, sophomore Justin Szela and senior Matt Chatell each carded rounds of 89 to lead the Mariners. Seniors Dan Varga (96) and Marc Delprado (106) rounded out the scoring for Mitchell.

Mitchell returns to action at the Blazer Invitational on September 29 at Westover Country Club.
