Men's Golf Wraps Up Play at Hampton Inn Invitational


NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's golf team finished 18th at the Hampton Inn Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Allendale Country Club.

Husson University topped the field of 18 teams with a two-day total of 629 while Salem State University (631) and Elms College (651) rounded out the top three. Salem State's Chris Berry earned individual medalist honors with a 36-hole score of 152 (+8), four shots better than Husson's Lance Bernier.

Mitchell finished with a team total of 862 and was led by senior Richard Palaia's two-round total of 191. His round of 94 on the final day of play was the lowest round by a Mitchell golfer at the tournament. Rounding out the scoring for the Mariners were freshman Anthony Sabatino (204), sophomore John McGowan (228), junior Jeffrey McNeal (239) and freshman Austin Floyd (244).

Mitchell returns to action at the Worcester State Invitational on April 17 at Blackstone National Golf Club.
