Men's Golf Finishes Second at Mitchell Invitational

GROTON, Conn. – The Mitchell College men's golf team finished second out of four teams at the Mitchell Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at Shennecossett Golf Course.

Newbury College took home team honors with a score of 352. Mitchell finished only six shots back at 358 while Becker College (362) and Daniel Webster College (379) rounded out the field.

Newbury's Daniel Lumb and Becker's Anthony Martinez each carded rounds of 83 to tie for first overall. Mitchell's Joshua Muckle shot 84 and finished third overall while teammate Michael Pinkerton and Daniel Webster's Josh Sigman tied for fourth at 85.

Lumb and Mitchell's Chris Heller each carded a pair of birdies to lead the field. Lumb was also one of five players who recorded six pars in his round.
Mitchell will wrap up the season with a round at Becker on Tuesday, October 14 at Leicester Country Club.
