Golf's Gaboury named NECC Rookie of the Week

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Sam Gaboury was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's golf, as released by the league on Monday morning.

Gaboury made his collegiate debut by carding a round of 81 and leading the Mariners to a runner-up finish at the Mitchell Invite I last week. He finished tied for seventh overall in the field of 19 golfers, and also tied for the low round on the team.

Mitchell will next compete at the Emmanuel Invitational at William J. Devine Golf Course on Wednesday, September 12 at noon.
