GROTON, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's golf team captured the Mitchell Invite II with a team round of 311 on Wednesday afternoon at Shennecossett Golf Course.

After logging back-to-back runner-up finishes to start the season, the Mariners picked up their first win of the year by tying the school record for lowest team round. Purchase College (334), Dean College (348) and Emmanuel College (411) rounded out the field.

Mitchell finished with four of the top five individual rounds of the day. Nick Knisel led the charge by firing a career-low round of 75 that included four birdies and nine pars. After a rough start on the first hole, Knisel played the rest of the course at even par en route to medalist honors.
