Golf Wraps Up Season at Mitchell Invite II

GROTON, Conn. – The Eastern Connecticut State University men's golf team claimed the Mitchell Invite II on Wednesday afternoon at Shennecossett Golf Course.

The Warriors shot a team round of 297 to win by 29 strokes over Mount Saint Mary College (326). Mitchell College (335) and Western Connecticut State University (357) rounded out the field.

Eastern's Jonah Dupuis shot an even-par round of 71 to take home medalist honors, besting teammate Ashton Lewis by two strokes. Mitchell's Michael McCarthy shot 74 to finish third.

Dupuis carded three birdies on the front nine and added another right after the turn. He later capped the round by making eagle on the 500-yard par-5 18th hole to post the low round of the day.

Patrick Shea paced Mount Saint Mary with a round of 78 to finish seventh overall. Nick Bedell turned in the low round for Western at 88.

McCarthy recorded a pair of birdies in the final round of his collegiate career. Nick Knisel also closed out his career with a round of 77 and tied for fifth. Shamus McLean tied for ninth at 81 while Micheal Thompson rounded out the scoring with a 103.
