Monks Defeat Mariners in Men’s Lacrosse

NEW LONDON, Conn. -  The Falcons of St. Joseph College (ME) defeated Mitchell today in a men's lacrosse game, 24-7.  Zach Ledvina (New Bedford, Mass.) scored four goals and had two assists in the loss.  Paul Dolewa (Saco, Maine) tallied five goals and an assist in the win for the Falcons.

The Mariners kept the game close in the first half, trailing 9-5 at the intermission, but St. Joseph would go on to score nine unanswered goals in the third quarter to put the game away.  Jonathan Horgan (Hingham, Mass.) scored four times, while teammates Kody Peckham (West Gardiner, Maine), Benson Pasquarello (Kennebunk, Maine), and Tokunbo Amosun (Gardiner, Maine) each tallied three for the visiting squad.

Adam Grillo (Waterford, Conn.) tallied two goals on the afternoon, while teammate Ian Gosselin (Uncasville, Conn.) dished out two assists.  In goal for the Mariners, Gregory Jameson (Newington, Conn.) made 11 saves.

Mitchell was out-shot 48-27, and they were at a 20-13 disadvantage on ground balls.

The Mariners play again on April 4th when they host Anna Maria College at 2:00 pm.
