LAX's Gennell Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Evan Gennell was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

Gennell scored a goal for the Mariners last week in a loss at Merchant Marine Academy and also scooped up a ground ball. He becomes the third Mitchell rookie to earn distinction from the conference this season, joining teammates Chevy Perry (April 20) and McCarthy Brodaski (April 6).

Gennell, a midfielder, has played in all 13 games for Mitchell this season and has scored eight goals while grabbing nine ground balls. He also ranks second on the team with four man-up tallies. 

Mitchell (5-8 overall, 3-0 NECC) will next host Wheelock College in the final game of the regular season on Tuesday, April 28 at 4 p.m.
