LAX Falls at Farmingdale State

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Farmingdale State College men's lacrosse team opened the 2018 season with a 22-1 home victory over Mitchell College on Saturday afternoon. 

FSC's James Ragland tallied the first two goals of the game and both Conor McAvoy and Jake Borresen followed with scores to put the Rams on top, 4-0, with 10:26 left in the quarter. Over the final 2:33 of the first, Farmingdale State added goals by Shane Clark, John McMahon and a pair from McAvoy to extend the lead to 8-0.

McMahon notched his second goal of the day early in the second quarter before a man-up score from Ragland put FSC ahead 10-0. Clark, Frederick Thomas IV, Joe Watson and Kevin Kasprzak added scores as FSC took a 14-0 advantage into the break. The Rams did not allow Mitchell to attempt a shot in the first half.

After a four-goal third quarter increased the Farmingdale State lead to 18-0, the Rams held a 4-1 scoring advantage in the fourth en route to the 22-1 season-opening victory. FSC, which had 13 different players record a goal in the win, outshot the Mariners 54-4.

Kyle Marsh scored the only goal of the game for Mitchell off a pass from Kevin Flores.

The Mariners (0-2 overall) will be back in action at St. Joseph's College (LI) on Tuesday, February 27 at 5:30 p.m.
