NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team suffered a 21-4 setback at Albertus Magnus College on Monday night Celentano Field.

Jade Shields led the Mitchell offense with a pair of goals and also dished out an assist. Jesse McKeever and Kyle Marsh also added tallies, and the latter also finished with a game-high 11 ground balls. Goalie Marcel Quinlan made 18 saves against 39 shots.

Albertus Magnus scored three goals in the opening 5:13 and carried the 3-0 margin into the second quarter. Nearly five minutes into the second stanza, Marsh found Shields for his first of the night to cut the deficit to two. McKeever also netted a goal in the period, but the Falcons scored three times in the final 3:00 of the half to lead 8-2 at the break.

Marsh opened the second-half scoring to pull Mitchell back to within seven, but it would be as close as the Mariners would get. The Falcons scored the final six goals of the third quarter and the first five of the fourth to put the game out of reach. James May finished with eight goals and three assists while Brennan Moore added seven goals and six assists to lead the Albertus attack.

Mitchell (0-6 overall) will next play at Merchant Marine Academy on Saturday, March 31 at 3 p.m.
