LAX's McKeever Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Jesse McKeever was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

McKeever scored a goal and recorded four assists last week in a pair of games for the Mariners. He also averaged a team-high 12.0 ground balls per game, and won 22 of 36 face-offs. Against Purchase College he finished with a pair of helpers to go with 12 ground balls and a 10-for-16 showing at face-off. In league action against Becker College, he tallied one goal with two assists and scooped up 12 ground balls.

McKeever, a midfielder, earns rookie of the week status for the second time this season (Feb. 26). He has played in 11 games and made 10 starts and ranks second on the team in scoring with 17 points on 10 goals and seven assists.

Mitchell (0-12 overall) will next play at Becker College in the semifinals of the 2018 NECC Championship on Wednesday, April 25 at 4 p.m.
