LAX Falls at Rivier

NASHUA, N.H. -- Mitchell College dropped a 20-6 final at Rivier University on Wednesday evening in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Raider Field.

Kyle Marsh led the Mariners with four goals for the second consecutive game. Jade Shields and Brandon Snyder accounted for the other two scores. Shields also had an assist on the night while Ethan LePain recorded two. Goalie Marcel Quinlan finished with nine saves against 29 shots on goal.

Rivier scored four goals in the first six minutes of the contest and never looked back. Marsh put the Mariners on the scoreboard at the 8:22 mark, but the rest of the quarter belonged to the Raiders, who built a 12-1 lead before the stanza's close.

Rivier tacked on three goals in the second period to lead 15-1 at the half. The Raiders extended the lead to 19-1 before the Mariners scored five of the final six goals to close out the game.

Colby Larsen led Rivier with five goals and an assist while Rob Fullerton and Eric Guinasso added four scores apiece. The Raiders outshot the Mariners 45-30 and won 19 of 26 face-offs.

Mitchell (0-3 overall) will next host Regis College on Wednesday, March 13 at 4 p.m.
