The teams traded scores throughout the second quarter, with the Pride striking first to go up 3-0. Marsh got the Mariners on the board at the 10:08 mark off a feed from Loris, and after Regis answered with a strike by Paul Brennan, Snyder found the back of the cage with 2:45 left. Tremblay capped the first-half scoring with a tally with 49 seconds remaining that gave Regis at 5-2 lead at intermission.

Mitchell made up ground in the third quarter, outscoring Regis by a 4-2 margin. Karnes, LePain and Loris capped the stanza with consecutive goals as the Mariners pulled within one heading into the fourth.

Marsh tied the game at 7-7 in the opening minute of the final period, scoring from just outside the crease on a whirling shot. A minute later, the Pride responded with a man-up goal from Tucker Cherry to edge back into the lead. However, Marsh tied the game once again with an unassisted effort with 6:48 to play.

Wagner provided the go-ahead score with 3:41 left to put Regis on top for good. The Pride won the ensuing face-off, and Tremblay added an insurance marker less than a minute later. Wagner then put the icing on the cake with 1:21 to go for the three-goal cushion.

Regis went 16-for-22 in face-offs thanks to strong efforts from Cherry (6-for-6) and Wagner (10-for-16). George Nicolopoulos scooped up a game-high 11 ground balls, the majority coming on face-off opportunities.
