LAX Duo Honored by NECC

MARSHFIELD, Mass. – A pair of Mitchell College men's lacrosse players were honored by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday morning.

Senior Kyle Marsh was named NECC Player of the Week while freshman Jacob Anderson was tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week. The duo helped Mitchell to a 1-1 week that included a 9-8 overtime win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon. The victory was the first of the season for the Mariners, as well as the first since the 2017 season.

Marsh earned player of the week honors for the second time this season (March 4) and third time in his career. Anderson is the second Mitchell rookie to be recognized by the conference this season.

Marsh, a midfielder, recorded hat tricks in both games last week. He finished with three goals and three assists in the win over Northern Vermont-Lyndon and also scooped up a team-high nine ground balls. Earlier in the week, he recorded three goals, an assist, six ground balls and three caused turnovers in a close game against Regis.

Anderson netted the game-winning goal in overtime against Northern Vermont-Lyndon. He finished with a pair of goals and also recorded two ground balls in the contest.

Marsh has played in all five games this season and leads the Mariners in scoring with 16 goals and six assists for 22 points. Anderson has also seen action in all five games and has recorded six goals and an assist for seven points.

Mitchell (1-4 overall) will next play at Sage College later today at 2 p.m.
