ALBANY, N.Y. -- Mitchell College dropped a 14-3 decision to The Sage Colleges on Monday afternoon in a non-conference men's lacrosse match-up.
The Mariners struck first on a goal by Ethan LePain just eight minutes into the contest. After the Gators put up three straight goals to take the lead, Nick Loris scored early in the second quarter to make it a 3-2 game. However, Sage closed out the game by scoring 11 of the final 12 goals to seal the victory. Jade Shields tallied Mitchell's lone goal in the second half.
Marcel Quinlan faced a total of 40 shots and finished with 11 saves. Steven Canino paced the Mariners with five ground balls while Brandon Snyder and James Harland caused a pair of turnovers each.
Mitchell (1-5 overall) will next play at Purchase College on Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
