LAX Falls at Anna Maria

PAXTON, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team fell by a 22-4 final to Anna Maria College on Wednesday evening in non-conference action at Caparso Field.

Ethan LePain found the back of the net twice and assisted on another score to lead the Mitchell attack. Jade Shields and James Giovanniello also added goals in the contest, the fourth of the year for the former and the first for the latter.

The AMCATS outscored the Mariners 9-2 in the opening period to jump out to a big lead. Anna Maria then netted 11 unanswered goals over the next 30 minutes to put the game away. Brandon Pavoni finished with five goals to lead all scorers.

Anna Maria held a commanding advantage in total shots (76-18) and peppered the Mitchell goal throughout the game. Goalie Marcel Quinlan saw 39 shots and made 19 stops while Greg DeCarlo played the final quarter and recorded six saves. 

Mitchell (0-2 overall) will next play at MCLA on Saturday, February 29 at 2 p.m.
