McManus Tabbed NECC Rookie of the Week

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Tyler McManus was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league on Monday morning.

McManus recorded a hat trick last week to help Mitchell to its first win of the season. He achieved the feat at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), notching his first collegiate goal in the process with a score late in the first quarter. He then added a pair of goals in the third quarter to complete the hat trick as the Mariners closed out an 18-6 victory. 

McManus, who has played in all three games this season, ranks fourth on the team in scoring. He also has five ground balls and two caused turnovers to his credit thus far. 

Mitchell (1-2 overall) returns to action later today at Sage Colleges. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
