LAX Can't Get Going at Sage

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team suffered a 23-8 setback at The Sage Colleges on Monday afternoon in non-conference action.

Sage, which improved to 1-3 overall, broke the school record for goals in a single game. Robert Martin led the Gators with six goals and an assist while Anthony Abreu and Bailey Martin each added four goals apiece.

Mitchell (1-3 overall) was paced by a hat trick from Nick Loris, who also dished out one assist. Jade Shields and James Giovanniello chipped in a pair of goals each, and Ethan LePain finished with one goals and three helpers.

Marcel Quinlan and Gregory DeCarlo split time in the cage for the Mariners and recorded nine and three saves, respectively. Desmond Knowles was busy on the defensive end, collecting a career- and game-high 15 ground balls while also causing four turnovers.

Mitchell will next play at Rivier University on Wednesday, March 4 at 6 p.m.
