MLAX Falls in Road Contest at MCLA

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Mitchell College dropped a 24-3 decision to the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Sunday afternoon in a non-conference men's lacrosse showdown.

A total of seven Trailblazers found the back of the goal in the contest, which saw the visitors dominate in both shots (69-22) and face-off wins (19-9). Nathan Haley led the way with eight goals while

Anthony Lupo added four, and Ryan Paltauf finished with two tallies and a game-high five assists and five assits, while Boden Dock tallied seven goals and a pair of assists.

Dylan Kinsella (Waterbury, Conn.) paced Mitchell with a goal and two assists. Alexander Walker (New Canaan, Conn.) and Jon Parra-Tobey (New London, Conn.) each notched their first goals of the season for Mitchell.

The Mariners were held scoreless through the first two quarters, but scored twice in the second frame and once in the final stanza.  Parra-Tobey netted his goal at the 9:57 mark in the third on an assist from Raphael Vogt (Montville, Conn.), while Kinsella and Walker both scored unassisted.

John Hankel picked up the win in goal and made three saves in 60 minutes of action. Mitchell goalie Ethan Wheeler (Annapolis, Md.) finished with 16 saves.

Mitchell (0-2 overall) will be looking for their firsy victory of the season when they host the University of Hartford on Wednesday, March 1st, at 3:30 pm. MCLA (1-0 overall) will return to action on Saturday, March 4th, when they host Regis College.
