MLAX Stumbles on the Road at Mount Saint Vincent

RIVERDALE, N.Y. –The College of Mount Saint Vincent's men's lacrosse team downed the Mitchell College Mariners, 19-3, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at Marillac Field.

The Dolphins scored seven goals in the opening quarter and added 10 goals in the second frame to carry a commanding 17-0 lead into halftime. Andrew Dzubak and Richie Albert paced MSV with four goals each. Albert added four assists, Dzubak dished out three assists, and Ryan Jean-Pharuns also notched a hat trick for the home squad. Rene Alamo and Isaac Parons also potted two goals apiece in the victory, which snapped a two game losing skid for the Dolhpins.

Mitchell junior Weston Schumacher (Sherborn, Mass.) scored two goals, giving him a team-high eight on the season. Junior CJ Bradley (West Babylon, N.Y.) registered his first goal of the spring for the Mariners, who were outshot 63-19 in the loss. Sophomore Jon Parra-Tobey (New London, Conn.) assisted on both goals for Mitchell, the first coming in the third quarter and the second in the fourth stanza.

Mitchell also turned the ball over 27 times and lost the ground ball battle 54-14.

Keeano Gonzalez (New London, Conn.) scooped up four ground balls for Mitchell, while Ethan Wheeler (Annapolis, M.D) made 16 saves in the cage.

The Marines (0-7 overall) will return to action on Wednesday, March 29, when they host Purchase College at 3:00 pm.
