Lasers Shoot Past Men’s Lacrosse

NEWTON, Mass. – A total of 15 different players scored on Wednesday afternoon for the Lasell University men's lacrosse team, helping send the Lasers past Mitchell College by a final of 29-1 in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) showdown at Grellier Field.

Colin LeBaron led the way with a game-high seven goals, while Austin Wenzel notched a hat trick and added five assists, and Anthony DeRosa added four points with a hat trick.

Lasell opened the scoring just over a minute into the contest and never looked back, pulling out to an 11-0 lead after the first quarter, which built to a 20 goal edge by halftime.

Weston Schumacher (Sherborn, Mass.) potted his team-leading 10th goal of the season in the second quarter for the Mariners, and the senior has now scored in each of the last three games. Junior Keeano Gonzalez (New London, Conn.) scooped up a team-high four ground balls for Mitchell, who were outshot 57-9.

Senior Dylan Kinsella (Waterbury, Conn.) logged all 60 minutes in the cage and turned away six shots.

Cameron Soave made three saves in 60 minutes of work for the Lasers.

The Mariners (0-7, 0-6 GNAC) return home for their next game when they host Emmanuel College in a GNAC tilt on Saturday, April 13th, at 1:00 pm. The Lasers (8-4, 6-0 GNAC) will look to remain undefeated in conference play when they host Dean College on Saturday, April 13th.
